A few weeks ago, Blooming Jelly reached out to see if I would review a few of their pieces. After looking at their website, I realized that if the pieces worked out, then this would be another affordable women’s fashion brand. Even better, you can find many of the Blooming Jelly on Amazon too! I was sold and thought it would be a good new brand to try!
I have not been disappointed and today I want to share the two items that were sent to me by Blooming Jelly to review.
In addition to these pieces being gifted, some affiliate links are included in this post. Please see my Privacy Policy for more information.
Checkerboard Plaid Cami Dress
I originally ordered this checkerboard cami dress with the hope that it would arrive in time for me to wear it to church for our “Freedom Sabbath” Fourth of July celebration. Unfortunately, it arrived in my mailbox when I got home from church that day. That’s ok, I knew I would be cutting it close. It took a week and a half to arrive, which is totally reasonable.
This cute checkerboard dress ended up being the perfect choice for church this weekend. We just finished our western-themed Vacation Bible School this week (hence why I have been so absent on Social Media…that stuff takes tons of prep time!) and had a little closing program during the worship service. The western theme, combined with the extreme heat and humidity made this dress the perfect choice!
The fabric is quite light-weight. I was a little concerned it would bee too see-through but it wasn’t a problem. Normally I would feel a little uncomfortable wearing it to church since it is so short but I know from experience that shorter dresses = surviving the heat in church and maxi dresses = you’re going to die of heat-exhaustion. In the end, the light fabric, combined with the short length was perfect for a hot day.
Finally, the smocked bodice makes a flattering fit and the pockets are a fun and functional addition. I got a lot of compliments on this cute checkerboard dress so if you don’t mind the length or are on the shorter side, this is definitely one to check out. The hubby loved it! (And that is not always the case!)
Note: Size up. I usually order a S and this is a M. Find it on Blooming Jelly’s website here and on Amazon here.
Tie-Front Floral Blouse
Lately I’ve really been working on buying more casual clothing pieces. What I love about this floral top is that it can be worn casually but it is still dressy enough for me to wear to work. I ordered a size S and that is the right size since it is still a little over-sized.
The details on this tie-front floral blouse are what make it fun. The tie on the front gives it a more flattering fit and the ruffles on the sleeves give it some playfulness. I also like that the back is a little longer just in case you need extra coverage back there! The fabric is light but opaque and quite soft. Though I originally had wanted the white version of this top, I find myself quite satisfied with this black floral version.
So far I have worn this top with jeans, jean shorts, white skinny jeans and some olive moto skinnies (with my new black studded flats!). It worked with all but I definitely like it best with the jeans.
Final Thoughts on Blooming Jelly
Overall I am very pleased with my pieces from Blooming Jelly and am interested in checking out more options! It’s always great to find a new affordable women’s fashion brand. If you haven’t taken a look at their selection, I would definitely recommend doing so.
You can find their full selection here.
I also can’t end this post without mentioning a great alternative for the earrings I’m wearing in this post. These earrings have been a very popular item on the blog lately but they are very hard to find since they are an older item. There is a pair in the Nordstrom Sale that would be a great alternative. I wear these white pearlescent Kendra Scott Corley earrings all the time because they go with everything. I can see these serving the same purpose. And they are a great price right now, for being a Kendra Scott piece.
Have you tried Blooming Jelly? What did you get from them and what were your thoughts! Have a wonderful week, friends!
