You guys…this faux leather jacket is sooo amazing! I’ve been looking for a quality affordable faux leather jacket for so long and last Friday I finally found it! Lately my work life has come to dominate everything (which is the opposite of what I’m trying to teach with this blog!) so a week ago Friday when the stars aligned and God gave me the combination of only one class that day and a 3-day weekend ahead, I took my husband’s advice and went to the mall for the first time in over a month! It was hard to block out the ever-present-to-do-list and casually walk through stores but it was SO needed. I was rewarded with this great find on my first stop!
This affordable faux leather jacket is such great quality and the fit on me is amazing. I’ve tried on leather jackets at Zara (more expensive) that I liked but didn’t have quite the right vibe and real ones at Wilson’s Leather, but this one takes the cake. Just to make sure, I went to all the other stores in the mall that might have a faux leather jacket and tried any and all other options on for size and quality. None could compare. The faux leather is soft and buttery and for $50, it’s such a steal. When I went to check out the clerk said he had sold 3 already that day so I knew I better grab it before it was gone!
I wanted to photograph it right away but I told myself to hold my horses. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety lately because I’m not getting any down time. My blog is supposed to be a way for me to find balance but when you’re up until 12 or 1 AM trying to wrap up lesson plans and then getting up at 4:30 AM to blog, something just has to go. Last week I chose to relax and take a breather rather than use my 3-day-weekend to rush through a post and add to my stress. It was the right decision but I was really glad to find time this week to shoot this date night outfit with my new favorite jacket.
It’s important to make time for date nights and mall trips if it means giving yourself a breather. What do you do to take a breather? Let me know in the comments below!

I am a quilter and a reader so I do one or the other each night after work. Even 15 minutes (I set a timer) playing with fabric or reading a book can totally reset my over-worked mind. Generally I cook and the hubs does the dishes but sometimes a mindless task like washing the dishes is just the mental break I need. Plus, if I have a list of “to-dos” then I set the timer – 15 minutes on the to-do list and 10 minutes break, repeat. It’s amazing what you get accomplished!

I totally get the mindless task mental break thing! For me it’s unloading the dishwasher! It helps to just focus on something else for awhile! I love your timer idea! I think I would have a really hard time sticking to just 15 minutes but I need to try it with less mind-intensive-tasks on my to-do list! Thanks for the idea!

I love that jacket and your shoes! Super cute! My husband and I were just discussing “vegan” leather this morning! I always try to link a similar vegan leather jacket to any post with a leather jacket. They really look just as good, and they are so affordable!

Thank you! Yes, they absolutely can look as good! I definitely have seen my share of ones that you could tell were fake but this one is really amazing. It’s such great quality that even I am fooled sometimes!

A great leather jacket is always a good investment piece. Glad you were able to rest. My health tends to make me rest more often than not, so my goal is not to rush myself into work when I am able to work. It takes practice.

Very true. I need to get better at not rushing it because I ended up going part-time originally because I was being unhealthy in the amount of time I was working. I won’t be helping anyone if I burn out! I need to practice not rushing it!

Love the jacket! I’m searching for a budget friendly one in tan or blush, but I’ve been so busy at work too that these things are on the side burner.

Thank you! Man, work can get so killer sometimes! Right now I’m hanging on for dear life! Good luck with your search for a tan or blush version!
