I can’t believe that the first official day of fall is this week! In the last week I’ve gotten particularly excited about Fall Outfits for school because the weather has officially changed here in New England! So far, the seasonal changes here have been very decisive. In Washington state you could hardly tell when Summer turned into Fall but here in New England, each season has changed practically in an instant. One day it was summer and the next it felt like Fall. So, I’ve been tracking Fall trends, trying to figure out what is worth trying to adapt for my school wardrobe and today I’m recommending five fall trends for teachers to try.

Bell Sleeve Top
The first trend I think works well for teachers is the continuing Bell Sleeve top trend. This is a trend that is carrying through from last year, which I am very happy about because this top is still one of my all-time favorites. It’s so soft, very comfortable and so chic. Plus, it’s under $20! You can see how I wore it before here. I wear it all the time and it’s an easy trend to incorporate into a work wardrobe. Wear a bell sleeve top or bells sleeve sweater with a pair of jeans or with a pair of work trousers. Either way, it’s an easy trend to incorporate.

Mules
It took me awhile to find the right pair for me, but now that I’ve found a great pair of mules, I love to wear them. It can be tricky to find a pair that doesn’t feel like they’re going to slide of your feet but they’re comfortable and fashionable. Plus, they’re flat! That’s a win in my book!
Some great mules
Neck Scarf
I started trying to incorporate neck scarves last summer and fall and wish I had tried a little harder. You can see two ways I wore neck scarves here and here. In the most recently released Nordstrom catalog I noticed a lot of neck scarves making an appearance again so I will be incorporating more scarves into my wardrobe this fall! This is a great accessory to try!
Silk Scarves
Velvet
Luxurious though it might be, I think Velvet is a great way to dress up an otherwise dull outfit (as work outfits sometimes start to feel!)
Velvet all over!
Red
It’s been a several years since a vibrant red has been in and although I’ve seen quite a lot of blush for fall (so don’t put away those spring tops quite yet!), reds have been out in full force! Yay! I love vibrant colors!
Red Tops
Ok, this was a quick post this week but I’m excited to hear what trends you’re looking forward to trying for work so let me know in the comments below!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I am definitely looking forward to velvet! I don’t have any currently, so it will be fun to style, especially in those deep cranberry shades. I also love loafers as a great teacher trend…they’re comfy and stylish!

I also can’t believe that it’s fall! Love these trends and how practical they are for teaching, especially the leopard mules. I just bought a pair of pink bow mules from Target this weekend!

Thanks Katie! Oooh! Pink bow mules sound divine! I have a pair of pink bow, peep-toe, jelly shoes that I bought almost 10 years ago now that I still love and wear frequently but a mule would be a lot more wearable past the summertime!

Me too! I think the first velvet trend I’m going to try this year is velvet shoes!

I always wear a lot of red in the cooler months – it’s the perfect pop with neutral layers! 🙂
I wish I could pull off the neck scarf look though, I always look too ‘flight attendant’ when I try, haha! I’ll admire others with the effortless coolness required to pull it off!
Hope you are having a lovely week 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Mica! Haha, I totally get the ‘flight attendant’ problem! That’s how I felt last year too with one of my scarves. I think it really does matter what the size and pattern of the scarf is! I’m putting together a look for next week that finally makes a scarf I own feel non-flight-attendant-y to me! You’ll have to stop back in!

My Aunt is a 1st grade teacher so I’m definitely going to share this post with her! Teachers can definitely rock some of the best trends 🙂
Virginia says
Thanks Gentry! Teachers can totally rock trends! It definitely helps when trends are comfy like a lot of the trends are right now!
