Welcome to Westerly’s waterfront! This park is a block or two from our apartment, and has such a great view of the Pawcatuck River and downtown Westerly. Today’s outfit is a great example of summer basics that you can wear throughout the year. A bright skirt like this one can be casual or dressy. Wear it for fun on a sunny day, for church, or even for work (as I wore a similar skirt in this post). A white v-neck top is another great outfit staple. I would recommend investing in one if you don’t already have one. I wear mine casually with shorts during the summer, but it looks great worn with a cardigan or blazer in the fall because the v-neck breaks up the neckline (see the difference below). I love wearing V-neck tops with my monogram necklace because it really highlights the necklace.

Two of my favorite sources for outfit basics are Forever21 and Jane.com. Forever21 carries so many options for affordable t-shirts and tanks. Jane.com always has great t-shirts, cardigans, dresses, and skirts on their daily deals. Though each deal only lasts 3 days, many of my favorites keep coming back. The leopard cardigan and pleated skirt have come back a number of times. Because I can’t predict when they will be back, I make sure to update you on my Facebook page.
