This statement necklace is so versatile. When I was in school, this is how I wore it for work. I bought it because of all the different ways I saw bloggers wear it in the fall. I saw bloggers wearing it with blue polka dot blouses, burgundy sweater dresses and white collared shirts. If you choose one statement necklace to get for your wardrobe, this is the one. It seriously goes with everything.
Since it’s summer, I’ve paired it with two items you’ve seen me wear before (and that have been on repeat in my summer wardrobe) – my Charlotte Russe Espadrille Wedges and my LOFT white skinny jeans (see here for the story of my desperate search for white skinnies!). A big thanks to the weather for giving us a break from the heat so I could shoot some pictures without melting!
In other news…I LOVE the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This is my first year paying attention to the deals and I’ve been excited to get back-to-school shopping (I know! Despite what the stores are saying, it’s not quite time for school YET!) started a little early to take advantage of prices while they are good. The sale is open to non-cardholders Thursday and ends August 3rd. Next week’s post will feature some of the items I’ve purchased but you can get a head start by following along on my Instagram!

Thanks so much for reading!
When it comes to teacher fashion I find that simple but professional is key. At 5:30 AM I don’t have time to do complicated mixing and matching! That’s where this work outfit comes in.
There are three basic staples of my closet in this outfit: 1) a bright tunic 2) a bold statement necklace and 3) a great pair of white skinny jeans. Now, I will tell you, a great pair of white skinny jeans is not always easy to find. For me, it took over a year to find the right pair. They were always too thin (definitely NOT work appropriate), too long, too skinny (*wink wink*), or just hugged the wrong places. Then along came a sale at LOFT and an Instagram from @emilyanngemma and I finally found the perfect pair. They aren’t too long, too thin or too skinny and I LOVE them! For work they are professional but comfortable. These are the color “natural” so they aren’t a stark white and I already have lots of ideas for how to wear them this spring and summer.
Do you have a great pair of white skinny jeans you just love? Where did you snatch them up?
