Savannah for a Wedding!

Last week my family headed down to Savannah, GA for my sister’s wedding! Savannah is such a beautiful city and I had all these big plans – go out to dinner, go antique shopping downtown, take some pictures for the blog – but when it came down to it, weddings are busy events and most of my time was taken up getting ready for the big day itself! So, I’m sorry to say I have no outfit pictures for you from Savannah. I snapped the picture above on the one afternoon we managed to make it downtown and I recreated it for you below.

My sister and I are only a few years apart and we lived together for a number of years before I got married, so we are close. The best part of the wedding was getting to spend time with her, picking up makeup supplies for the wedding day (I did her makeup!), running errands and getting to see their home.

Here we are, rushing to the ceremony!!

Everything was a bit hectic, but in the end the bride was beautiful and the groom was handsome and we got to spend time with people we love. That’s the best thing about weddings!

Valentine’s Day Teacher Outfit

Hello all! I hope you had a stupendous Valentine’s Weekend. I love Valentine’s Day! I love the colors and the emphasis on love – whether it’s for a significant other or friends and family, it’s a great thing to celebrate those we love! I have been blessed with a stupendous husband who works so hard for our little family and still makes time to help me take photos for my blog! These last few weeks have been super busy for both of us and it seems like the weather, our schedules and shipping services have been against us. For various reasons I didn’t get good pictures of my Valentine’s Day outfit for school so right before we headed out to our own Valentine’s Day dinner date, Jeremy snapped a few pictures for me in the fading light! So this week you get 2 outfits!

I’m not sure what it is about holidays, but I adore dressing up for holidays at school. This year I showed my Valentine’s spirit with a head-to-toe pink and red ensemble, as well as featuring my new favorite pair of shoes!! I’ve been lusting over these for months and when they were back in stock, I snatched them up. I did end up having to exchange my regular size for one size smaller so the shoe wouldn’t keep slipping off. Now they’re a tad tight but my husband made a good point, small shoes can stretch out but shoes that are too big will never shrink. So, we’ll see how this goes.

Valentine’s Day Dinner Date

Though I ordered this cute ruffle top, it didn’t come in time (urgh…) and I switched to my trusty long-sleeved lace top.

For our dinner date I repeated a lot of the items I wore above. These Kendra Scott Alexandra earrings are such a great pop of color against my dark hair and perfect for a Valentine’s dinner date!

Ever since Over the Knee boots started appearing all over in the fall I knew I had to find a pair. But, since my teacher’s salary just doesn’t support the Stuart Weitzman pair, I searched high and low for an affordable pair of OTK boots and ended up finding the perfect pair at Forever21! I chose grey because it goes with so many color combinations and doesn’t make as stark of a contrast against white or blue skinny jeans as would black OTK boots.

I just love the way they look against a pair of white skinny jeans, and that is the most common way I wear these, though they could also be paired with a shorter dress or skirt or black leggings. I know these are already sold out but since I featured them in a post this fall, I wanted to make sure I showed one or two ways to wear them. Don’t think that just because I featured them in the fall that they will disappear for the Spring – the gray color is already starting to show up in Spring lookbooks so I expect I will be back with another outfit featuring these later. That being said, this is the perfect time to buy some of the fall pairs on sale, now making them affordable over the knee boots!
