Yay!! It’s finally here! Nordstrom Anniversary sale deals start now! The Norstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the best sales of the year and it’s the best time to stock up on basics and plan ahead for fall and winter. You will find boots, booties, and coats on sale for cooler weather and designer jeans and bags on sale for incredible prices. If you were ever going to try out a pair of designer jeans, now would be the time to buy! Nordstrom Cardholders can shop now! The rest of you will have to wait until the sale is open to the public on July 21! (If you’re not a cardholder, but you want to be, go here!)

I’m going to start by sharing my overall favorites of the sale and then I’ll break the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale deals down by category. I haven’t had a chance to try out any of these items yet because the sale just started and I’ve got multiple contractors scheduled to work on our rental units today. Tomorrow I will head to Nordstrom and try out some of these items. At that point I will give you an update on fit, quality, etc.

Shoes

Shoes are the best thing I get from the sale every year. The most popular ones tend to be the really affordable booties or the designer boots with dramatic markdowns like these or these (which will sell out!).

A few of the pairs I’ve linked for you below are almost exactly the same as some of my favorite (and most complimented shoes). These leopard pumps are the same brand and pattern as my favorite leopard heels and these flats are the same brand and pattern as my favorite lace-up flats (which I get compliments on ALL the time!).

Pineapple Embroidered Shorts Summer Trend

Hello friends! I just can’t get enough of these adorable pineapple embroidered shorts! I’ve been loving the embroidered shorts at J.Crew Factory and bought my husband a pair of chinos with embroidered crabs! (He loves them!) Then when I stopped into Target for some things (ie: Sugarfix by Baublebar jewelry!) I came across these cute pineapple embroidered shorts and they were the perfect fit! I’ve been wanting a pair of white shorts for summer but I find it hard to find a pair that are the right length. J.Crew Factory 5″ inseam shorts are my favorite but the cute critter shorts they carry only come in a 3″ inseam.

I was happy to find these pineapple embroidered shorts (they come in 3 inseam lengths too!) at Target and what better day to feature them on the blog but on National Piña Colada day! Pineapples are showing up everywhere (you could even match your hubby!) and I couldn’t be happier! I paired these embroidered shorts with a favorite bell-sleeve off-the-shoulder top. You can see another way I wore it here. It’s light-weight, under $15 and pairs beautifully with a variety of outfits!

Affordable Spring Trends: 50 Under $50

Good morning friends! Spring is in the air around here! When I start hearing the birds chattering in the early morning I know that spring is right around the corner! That’s when I start packing up my boots and dark colors and start thinking about affordable spring trends!

I love transitioning my wardrobe for a new season because it means I can pull out clothes that feel new again and play around with new colors! Last year around this time my husband and I started a new healthier lifestyle and many of my old spring clothes just don’t fit (yay!) so I’ve been thinking about what pieces to invest in that will add significantly to my wardrobe without breaking the bank. As I have searched I noticed a few trends for spring that I thought I would share with you. Even more exciting, there are plenty of affordable options to mimic some of the designer styles! Some of these trends are newer (mules and embroidered pieces) and others have continued from last spring and summer (hooray for the return of ruffles!), but all are trends you will see this spring.

This spring it’s all about blush – from blush tops, to blush purses and shoes. Ruffles and bell sleeves are all the rage and you will often find them combined with other popular trends like embroidered or off-the-shoulder tops.

Many of the following items are available in multiple colors and all are under $50! Be sure to check the sizes on each retailer before you order. With retailers like Asos and Shein I always check the recommended measurements to make sure I’m ordering the correct size (for Shein I frequently size up).
