Statement Style #1 – The Bubble Necklace
One of my favorite ways to dress up work outfits is to wear statement necklaces, so over the next few months I will be doing series of Statement Style posts, featuring my favorite statement necklaces.
Statement Style #1 is Bubble Necklaces. I’m aware that this trend is past for many people but I’m a big fan of, “If you love it, wear it.” I have loved this necklace since I got it because it brightens up so many outfits in the spring and summer.
For certain statement necklaces, you want a higher necked top. A boat neck top is great (I liked one or two below) because the necklace stands out. This top just about doesn’t make the cut for neckline but because the necklace chain is adjustable, it does the job. Plus, I just love flutter sleeves!
These pants were a TJ Maxx win. I wish I could find the perfect pair to link for you but I posted this too late and the best links were sold out before I got the post up. I love orange and I LOVE linen pants so these have been on constant rotation over the last few weeks. Teacher style for me is a mix of comfy and classy and linen pants fit the bill in both departments.

Target Style Inspiration
Last week my students and I completed all of the curriculum for AP United States and Comparative Government. It’s quite an accomplishment to complete two college semesters worth of work in less than a high school year. Each year I practically collapse at the front of my room in exhaustion, hardly believing that I don’t have to frantically plan and grade and re-work lessons so that my students will be prepared for their AP Exams.
When I left the building that day I was ecstatic and…for the first time in what seemed like forever, I had nothing I had to do for the next day. So…I went shopping! It was reward time!
As soon as I walked into Target…they grabbed me. Oh the marketing ploys that trap innocent shoppers when they walk into the store. As soon as the sliding doors opened I saw this incredible scarf and the tassel bag. I already featured these on the “Summer is Coming” post last week but I wanted to show you how I wore them to school.
I adore bright colors so this scarf was just what I needed to feel dressed up for work but dreaming of summer days. This is another Sheinside.com top. Love love love it. The material is thicker than I expected but it fits great (size up) and even with jeans I felt dressy.
Target is really on-par with colors and patterns so far! Snatch the good stuff up before they’re gone!
