I have a feeling this will be a long post, partly because I need to gush about the items in this outfit and partially because I have so many things to say about all the sales going on right now! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has been going on now for over a week, though it only opened to non-Nordstrom cardholders last Friday. This year was the first time I shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I have a feeling I will be a regular #Nsale shopper from here on out. Nordstrom has always intimidated me. I think: I can’t afford that…why even go in if I fall in love with a $200 pair of jeans?! But since I am a cardholder (not sure when that actually happened…lol) I got an email with early access to the sales. I decided to just limit my search to what I could buy under $100 and quickly came up with a number of items.

To make a long story shorter, I have become a loyal Nordstrom Anniversary shopper because of a few reasons 1) I can buy a good quality item that will last longer and wear better for the price I would buy it at target. See shirt above! 2) the sale features a lot of great items for fall that I would be shopping in a few weeks for back to school anyway! From here on out, the #Nsale will be the first part of my back to school shopping.

Now, to the outfit. This Lush tunic is INCREDIBLE. A lot of bloggers have bought this shirt and I can’t believe it hasn’t sold out yet. Here’s why I like it – it’s flowy (you feel fancy in it!), it’s long (ie: I can wear it to school over leggings!), and it can be worn all year round. I’m sure you will see me wearing it again under a faux fur vest or jacket in the fall. But as you can see in this outfit, it is seriously perfect to wear with shorts! I have struggled to find shirts that will tuck in to my shorts and be long enough to still hang loosely in the front. The length on this one makes that easy. It comes in 4 colors and I loved it so much I went back and bought another color!

These shorts are another win for me. I have searched high and low for a pair of distressed jean shorts that fit and are affordable. Had I started earlier this process might have been easier, but once again, the Forever21 Contemporary section came through for me. As I was looking for a different item I stumbled across these shorts. I would not wear them with a tight shirt because they are made baggy and wearing them with a tighter top just isn’t very flattering. That being said, they’re comfortable and I find myself picking them up to wear constantly. Win for Forever21!

Finally, the jewelry: I am in love with my first piece of Kendra Scott jewelry, snagged at an affordable price for me thanks to the Nsale. And, how about those tassel earrings?! When I saw them the first time I fell in love but when I a sale finally came around for Baublebar, they were sold out. When I heard they were restocked I grabbed them before I could lose the chance again. I don’t regret it. I want to wear them with everything I have! Various other colors and styles are linked above. Finding a good pair of shorts can be really difficult, especially if you’re like me and like them a little longer but not too long. J.Crew/J.Crew Factory has some of the best shorts I’ve found and right now they’re on sale. I will be featuring one of them next week but want you to be able to grab them now while they’re on sale! (The striped ones also come in a blue/white stripe – which I will be wearing in next week’s post. Also, the last one in the row comes in a beautiful blue and is my favorite pair of shorts.)
