Though this picture didn’t show up on Instagram, I am so excited to share with you an affordable DIY Christmas gift for friends and relatives. I have been looking at blanket scarves for so long now and just can’t get myself to spend the $30 to $40 for one. Then, one night I thought…I bet I could MAKE one of those! Sure enough, Pinterest delivered. I used a tutorial from The DIY Mommy, here. I stopped by Jo-Ann Fabrics when they had a sale and ended up creating 4 of these for a little under $10 each.

I used 41″ flannel fabric. This one works well but it would be nice if it was a little bigger. Blanket scarves are typically 55″ x 55″.

Next time I will use wider fabric. On Fabric.com there are some great 56″ options. See here, here and here.

My Favorite Studded Heels

Cute work outfit: Plum Ankle Pants, Leopard print clutch bag, and Valentino Look-alikes

I have hardly been able to wait to post this outfit. I purchased these ankle pants in my back to school shopping trip and tried a couple different ways to style them. I knew I wanted to show you how to style such a bright pant but I couldn’t quite find the right pair of shoes. Then, on a quick trip to DSW I discovered these AMAZING dupes for Valentinos and (after I *swooned*) when I got them home I realized they were PERFECT to pair with these ankle pants and a simple black top. The black balances out the bright pants and the shoes provide just the right amount of bling. Though next time I think I will find more of a statement necklace to balance out the bling, I feel like the final result gives off a rich, elegant vibe.

Speaking of these shoes, I can’t get enough of them. I pretty much need them in every color now. There are two different similar options. These are the Niro heel, which have a shorter heel. I can wear them ALL DAY at school and my feet don’t hurt. The studs are a little more on the silver side so I would like to get another pair (maybe a different color) with gold studs. The Darron heel is very similar with a slightly higher heel. When I tried the Darron heel on they were very comfortable as well, though I can’t vouch for how they feel after a full day of being on your feet. What I’m Loving this Fall

Well, photos just didn’t happen this week – but that’s ok! There are so many things I’ve been scouring the internet for and sale-stalking that I thought I’d share a few of those. Over the last few weeks, my most searched items have been 1) Gray Floppy Hats 2) Over the Knee Boots and 3) Ponchos.

My floppy hat search was very successful. I love the gray color because it goes with so much without being overly bold like a black hat. I love red, but the reality is, it can only be worn with so many outfits, whereas gray can be worn with almost any outfit. I eventually purchased the one featured above but there are a lot of other great options, which I will link below in the widget.

It seems like every blogger I follow is posting pictures of the many different ways to wear suede over the knee boots. But the ones they buy are way out of my price range. So, I did some searching and trying on and found these. I love the way the heels look and they fit over my wider calves, always a plus! The other set featured above I have not tried, but I love the thicker heel.

Finally, I have had what seems like an endless search for the perfect fall poncho/blanket scarf. Some are too long and others don’t quite fit right. I’ve found one that I’m keeping my eye on for the holiday season but then yesterday at Target I found this beauty. The colors are the perfect fall colors and fit my coloring wonderfully. Within 2 days of finding this, it is already unavailable online. So check your local store and snatch it up quick!

Other than that, I’ve just been craving warmth and comfort, hence the sweaters and candles. With the chill starting to bite outside, there’s nothing better than wrapping up in a cozy sweater and lighting some spicy fall candles. Keep your eye out for sales at Bath and Body Works. Their candles are almost always on sale and then when you add a coupon on top of the sale, they are totally worth the price.
